Referee Seminar

Please note that there have been some substantial changes to the rules that were approved at the last WKF Championships in Tokyo.

It is imperative that all Referees and Judges attend to ensure that competitors are given appropriate scores etc 

The seminar will be held at the Seikukan Dojo in Sunday 22/2/09 between 10-12pm

QKA Coaching Seminar

The QKA  is conducting a  Coaching Seminar on February 21st  and  is well worth attending  Refer the  Program Below

To attend, you need to complete the form , have it signed by JR and return it with a cheque made out to QKA Inc. (Not the AKF) to the address on the form…

The following will be the program for the day.

  1. A 2 hour session with Dr Phil Jauncey (Sports Psychologist to the Broncos, Qld Bulls, ARL Australian Team, and many Baseball teams including some US based Major League teams), looking at Performance Coaching
  2. A 1 hour session on Karate-specific impact injury management by Dr Sean Lawrence (Renbukan) – Sean is an Emergency Room Doctor at the PA Hospital and fellow QKA Coach/Referee
  3. A 1 hour session on WKF Rules & 2009 changes specifically for Coaches by Jon Rawlings (Seikukan) & State Referees Commission Chair
  4. A 1 hour session on – Sports Nutrition for Karate (Lecturer TBA) – This session will assist coaches attempting Level 2 Accreditation with elements of the workbook addressed
  5. A 1 hour session on – Strengthening & Conditioning for Karate Competition by Wayne MacDonald (Budokan) & AKF National Strengthening & Conditioning Coach – This session will assist coaches attempting Level 2 Accreditation with elements of the workbook addressed
  6. An optional 1.5 hour CPR Refresher for those coaches that are unable to organise numbers for this purpose at their clubs

Second Pinan Seminar

Jon Rawlings and Rod Taylor will take the second in the three part series  on the Pinan kata. The first in this series was well received and attended. All Seikukan Instructors and interested Blackup Belts and studenst are invited to attend as it will bring you up to date with the latest versions of these important kata.

Where: The clubhouse, Cressey Street, Wavell Heights

When: 10 am on Saturday 19 May 2007.

Duration: Allow around 2 hours

This seminar is the second of 3 practical training seminars on the Pinan kata. Jon and Rod will revise each of the Pinan kata and then use aspects of these kata to demonstrate kata kihon and basic movement.
